A Little Habit…Essential Tips for the Laid-Back Traveler

Now that I’ve been back in the States for a couple of months I find that some of my well-honed travel habits went AWOL on me and just disappeared without asking me if I was ready to part ways.  You see, I never lose anything on the road (truly haven’t left anything behind) yet in the past two months I’ve misplaced sunglasses, wallets, keys, and power cords for sometimes days while I’m living out cozy bedrooms at the hospitality of my friends.
In fact, my friends consistently joke that I …

A Little Thought…The Lost Girls Inspire RTW Travel

Two years ago, nearly to the month, I stumbled across a blog that, quite literally, changed my life.
They dubbed themselves “The Lost Girls” and they were three women who quit their jobs in NYC to travel around the world together for an entire year…and what’s more, they documented the entire trip on their blog several years before other women travel bloggers were doing the same.
It was revolutionary to me. Women could do this? Like actually take off from the US for a whole year to travel?
Their blog came at …

A Little Review…No Debt World Travel

About a month ago Brian from No Debt World Travel contacted about the launch of a new guide he wrote (and he provided me with a free copy of the e-book). Titled the same as his site, I was enthused to review his guide, No Debt World Travel, and share my thoughts here on A Little Adrift – because I figured – hey, a lot of RTW newbies find my site and wouldn’t it be just swell to tell them how they can travel the world without debt.
Interestingly enough, …

A Little Challenge…What Do You Love in New York City?

I’m heading to New York City at the end of the month and I’m actually probably as thrilled to head to NYC as I am to the more exotic locales in Central America that I’ll visit in February.
I’ve been to NYC a grand total of once – for the three days surrounding my 18th birthday. And while I jam-packed in a Broadway show and a handful of the most popular sites…I’ve never really seen the city.
Which begs the question:
What’s your favorite place in New York City?
I’ll be staying with …
